The days 11 and 12 of January 2018 will take place in Sala Rekalde a Conference on artistic practice-based research.

We will count with the presence of three important speakers in the European context: JANNEKE WESSELING, MIKA ELO, MAFE MOSCOSO, and a group of selected communications by an open call.

JANNEKE WESSELING is professor of Art and Research at the University of Arts of The Hague and since 2016 she has the Chair of Practice and Theory of Investigation in Visual Arts of the University of Leiden (Holland). She has published See it Again, Say it Again. The Artist as Researcher (Amsterdam: Valiz, 2011) and Of Sponge, Stone and the Intertwinement with the Here and Now. A Methodology of Artisic Research (Amsterdam: Valiz, 2016)


MIKA ELO is professor in Artistic Research at the University of Arts of Helsinki. During 2012-2013 he was curator of the exhibition Falling Trees that took place at the Venice Biennale. He is member of the Editorial Team of JAR (Journal for Artistic Research). In 2014 published "What Calls for Thinking" (RUUKKU – Studies in Artistic Research. Nr 2.) and "Notes on media sensitivity in artistic research" (Exposition of Artistic Research: Publishing Art in Academia. Eds. M. Schwab and H. Borgdorff. Leiden University Press. 25–38.)


MAFE MOSCOSO teaches in BAU University. She has a Phd in Anthropology (Freie Universität Berlin) and she is an interdisciplinary researcher. She works in Latin America and Europe. She combines his academic activity with writing and art. She is part of the “Euraca” collective and coordinates the campus of the project “Una ciudad, muchos mundos” (Intermediae, Matadero) and directs the seminar “Etnografía a lo bruto: un opening de datos muy salvaje” (Intermediae, MATADERO). She writes and collaborates in different Medias.

The Conference will count with the contribution of a number of Communications selected by an Open Call.
